The Cinque Terre cards are a no-brainer when visiting the region as they provide access to local transportation and hiking trails inside the Cinque Terre National Park (Blue Trail) while saving you money. There are 2 types of cards available:

1) The Cinque Terre Trekking Card

This card gives you access to the 2 currently open hiking paths of the Blue Trail: from Monterosso to Vernazza and from Vernazza to Corniglia. The card costs 7.50€ for a 1-day card and 14.50€ for a 2-day card (Note that those prices double during specific "red" days throughout the year when high affluence is expected). The following services are also included:

  • Free use of the toilets at the stations in each village (1€ for non card holders)
  • Free use of the buses within the National Park
  • Reduced entry fee to the Civic Museums in La Spezia (Amedeo Lia, Castello San Giorgio, CAMeC, Sigillo, Palazzina delle Arti, Etnografico and Diocesano)

It is worth mentioning that the access to the hiking trails is free during low season (from November to March).

2) The Cinque Terre Treno MS Card

This card gives you all the benefits of the Trekking Card together with unlimited train travel on the Cinque Terre train linking Levanto, the Cinque Terre villages and La Spezia. The price for a 1-day card varies depending on the season:

  • Very low season (November to March): 14.8€
  • Low season (Weekdays in March, April, May & October): 19.5€
  • Medium season (June and September): 27€
  • Peak season (July and August, weekends and holidays): 32.5€

For comparison, the cost of a single journey between any 2 stations costs between 5€ (low season) and 10€ (peak season), which makes the Treno MS card a more economical way to explore the different villages. 2-day and 3-day cards are also available for purchase and offer gradual price drops. The Cinque Terre cards can be purchased at all entry points onto the trail (cash only), at the train station of each village or online on the Cinque Terre National Park website.

3) Access to the Via dell'Amore

Following the reopening of the famous Via dell'Amore between Manarola and Riomaggiore in August 2024, you can purchase a Via dell'Amore Cinque Terre card, which is essentially a Trekking or MS card with a premium price including access to the fully restored coastal walkway. You can purchase the card online on the official website. If you already purchased a standard Cinque Terre card, no worries, you can always pay an additional 10€ fee online or on site to get access.
